The End of the F***ing World is one of the best Original Netflix Series I've ever watched. The show is about James, a seventeen nearly eighteen year old teenager who thinks he is a psychopath, and Alyssa who is a rebellious teenager who is James's intended victim but end up falling in love.
The show starts off with James describing himself and all the things that made him think he was a psychopath. Alyssa introduces herself to the show by describing her home life and then it transitions to James and Alyssa meeting. Their encounter starts off with Alyssa saying "I've see you skating... you're pretty sh*t" and James responding "F*** off". As you can tell by their first encounter this show is going to be pretty vulgar in language.
The first season is definitely the best out of the two. After the first episode, James and Alyssa run away from home and decide to drive anywhere they want. As James and Alyssa drive their bond is already becoming stronger and a lot more romantic. They end up breaking into someones house so they have a place to sleep. They steal food, alcohol and dance to music while they are there. The man who owns the house ends up coming back and finding Alyssa sleeping in his bed. Alyssa is startled and apologizes and says that it's just her in the house. The man locks the door and try's to rape her while James was hiding under the bed the whole time. James comes out and stabs the man in the neck with his knife, splattering blood all over Alyssa and the bed. They clean up all the evidence and James finds pictures and video of the mans other rape victims. He scatters the photos around the mans body for people to find when they discover his body.
I really think that after that scene I was hooked. The show gets better and better as James and Alyssa are on the run. The police find the body and somehow get a description of James and Alyssa. They decide to try to find Alyssa's dad's house to seek shelter. Once they find her dad, they all seemed really happy and had no worries. The day after they arrive, James turned eighteen and Alyssa's dad sees that they are wanted criminals on the news. James finds out that Alyssa's dad called the cops. Alyssa becomes furious and stabs her dads leg with a knife. James runs off with a shotgun to the beach where a swat team and cops are waiting. James ends up getting shot and the screen goes black ending the first season.
The second season was really good but I still think that the first one was the best since it was the "Original". It starts off with an introduction of a new character, Bonnie. It turns out that she was "dating" the man that James killed. Bonnie killed someone earlier and was in prison at the time of the mans death. She gets released from prison and is seeking revenge on James AND Alyssa.
Bonnie acts as a hitch-hiker and plans on avenging her "Lover". James is alive and was recovering in the hospital for TWO years. James meets up with Alyssa even though they are NOT supposed to see each other. James and Alyssa run away together AGAIN and pick up Bonnie. They end up staying together longer than expected since Bonnie keeps running into problems as soon as she tries to kill them. They all end up staying at a motel and Bonnie ends up accidentally killing the one worker that works there and injuring herself in the process.
The series goes on with James and Alyssa having lots of flashbacks of the night they murdered the man. Alyssa is the worse and has lots of flashbacks. Bonnie has inferences of how James and Alyssa killed him thinking it was all on purpose instead of self defense. Bonnie ends up holding James and Alyssa hostage inside a cafe. They convince Bonnie that they didn't mean it, but Bonnie turns the gun on herself to kill herself but James and Alyssa tackle her. They end up getting the police to taking her away.
In total I feel like The End of the F***ing World was one of my favorite Netflix series ever. It always grabbed my attention and made me want to watch more. All in all, I give the show a 9/10 because I think everything about the show is perfect except that the show is only 2 seasons long with 8 episodes only 22-25 minutes long. I think that anyone who enjoys watching TV would love this because it appeals to almost every genre.
